Aswad Minggu is among the few people in Ternate, North Maluku, who still practices wonge-wonge, a ritual believed to be an alternative healing through summoning ancestral spirits. The spirits are said to possess their descendants, unconsciously making them dance endlessly to the beat of tifa drums, while performing healing rituals.
