Directed by Bytautė Pajėdienė, the film follows Jonas and Adolfas Mekienė, sons of Elzė Mekienė, a woman from the village of Semeniškės in the Biržai district who became part of the progressive Lithuanian American community. When the brothers return to their mother’s homeland for the first time in 1971, their visit becomes a widely reported event, opening a window onto a Lithuania rarely seen by the outside world.
