The film by Jorge Bedoya Forga (Arequipa, 1902 - New York, 1968), a pioneer of amateur 8mm filmmaking in Peru, was filmed around 1933 and records a social event apparently related to one of the first actions of the important project that sought to irrigate desert areas of Arequipa with water from the Siguas River, in order to turn them into farmland.
