In 1970, Peter Huang attempted to assassinate then Vice Premier Chiang Ching-kuo in New York, beginning 25 years of exile. After returning to Taiwan, Huang devoted decades to human rights advocacy and institutional development. Filmed over seven years, Breaking the Wall follows his later life and reflects on how one individual continues to engage with the choices of his youth, while tracing Taiwan's evolving journey toward democracy and human rights.
