Alfredo Velarde is a visual artist, photographer, video artist, and designer. His work encompasses painting, photography, installation, and video art, media which, individually or in combination, employ symbolic language as their central focus. The recurring theme in his creative and documentary work is rituals and customs, exploring syncretism, tradition, and contemporary popular culture through a modern and contemporary expression. These concepts are the core of his current production.
