Director
Simón Bucher is a prominent Chilean director, producer, and animator. His artistic career focuses on experimental animation and horror cinema, fields where he stands out for his technical mastery of visual storytelling through pixilation, analog rotoscoping, and stop-motion. As a director, his notable works include the original film The Feast, which had its international premiere at the prestigious 2023 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, followed by The Gazelle Gazette, premiered at FICVALDIVIA 2026. He also served as an executive producer on "Sorrow Doesn't Sleep at Night", a short film selected for the official competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. In television, Simón worked as general producer and assistant director on the upcoming animated production Sissi & César. His specialization in animation and pixilation also led him to direct the animated sequence for the feature film Designation of Origin (2025) and create the official promotional spot for the 21st edition of SANFIC. As an upcoming participant of Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires, Simón is currently focused on developing his debut feature film, marking his transition into feature length filmmaking.
