Despite the tragedy, the film became a massive box office hit and a definitive piece of '90s pop culture, spawning several film sequels, a television series, and a 2024 cinematic reimagining.Beyond The Crow, O'Barr has contributed to numerous comic titles, including Curare, Skinning the Wolves, and Gothik, and has worked as a consultant and writer across various multimedia adaptations of his work.
